Siniat products replacing
all GTEK-branded products
After successfully passing all the required fire tests, Siniat fire-resistant boards manufactured in the Hazelmere factory are now certified for fire compliance, and they will replace GTEK-branded fire-resistant plasterboards manufactured at this facility.
This milestone concludes the changeover from all GTEK-branded products, and from 1 September 2025, every product manufactured in WA will proudly carry the Siniat name.
The transition process started with the acquisition of the BGC plasterboard and fibre cement businesses by Etex in 2024, and the changeover to Siniat fire-resistant boards was the last step of the journey.
Fire-rated boards
On 1 September 2025 we will cease production of all GTEK-branded fire-reated plasterboard and only Siniat-branded fire-resistant boards will be manufactured out of Hazelmere.
Current stock of GTEK boards will run out over the coming weeks and full Siniat systems will be available.
FAQs
Where can I find the relevant certifications during the transition period?
For certification purposes during the transition period, please refer to GTEK fire-rated systems when using GTEK-branded plasterboards, and refer to Siniat fire-rated systems (available from the Siniat Blueprint) when using Siniat-branded plasterboards.
Can I use GTEK and Siniat fire resistant plasterboards together in one system?
To prevent any compliance issues during this transition period, we recommend not mixing GTEK and Siniat fire-resistant plasterboards on the same fire-rated wall or ceiling system.
When will the Siniat boards become available?
We will cease production of the GTEK-branded fire-resistant boards on 1 September 2025, and from this date only Siniat-branded fire-resistant plasterboard will be manufactured out of the Hazelmere factory. After this date GTEK-branded boards will only be available until existing stock depletes.
